Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Fellowship Program
The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Program and A.I. Dupont Hospital for Children is the first, and only, program to offer Physician Assistants specialized training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. The program is 12 months in duration. Fellows will be afforded an annual stipend dispersed bi-weekly, along with a full benefits package and continuing medical education funds. Fellows will also accrue paid time off. The position will start on 10/1/2019 and last through 9/30/2020.
The program equips Physician Assistants with didactic and clinical experience in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, making them excellent candidates for future careers in Pediatric or General Emergency Medicine.
During the first 6 months, the fellow will spend a majority of the clinical hours in the main Emergency Department. During the second 6 month period, the fellow will also spend an average of 8 hours per week in the Treatment Area/Fast Track. The fellow will also spend time in mini-rotations throughout the hospital including rotations in the following areas; Radiology, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Hematology, Opthalmology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Urgent Care, and Day Medicine.
