Clinical Nursing Consultant II - Labor & Deliver/OBER (Job ID #137603)
Works with clinicians, nurses, and staff to understand clinical and operational workflows, obtain input to assist in the design and redesign of processes to fully optimize the use of healthcare applications for patient care and operations.
Provides clinical oversight to PowerChart Maternity and EPIC application changes. Oversees standardization of clinical documentation, compliance and reports.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary professionals to integrate evidence-based interventions into a comprehensive plan of care to enhance patient outcomes.
Evaluates effects of system interventions for individuals and populations of patients/clients for clinical effectiveness, patient responses, efficiency, cost effectiveness, customer satisfaction and ethical considerations.
Identifies interpersonal, technological, environmental or system facilitators and barriers to the system implementation process.
Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team to implement innovative evidence-based interventions that improve outcomes.
Mentors nursing and clinical staff at all levels of the division to acquire new skills.
Prepares routine progress reports for leadership: identifies barriers, develops action plans and issues requiring escalation for resolution.
Provides analysis and interpretation of data.
Other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Current license as a Professional Registered Nurse required.
Master's Degree in Nursing or another healthcare field or Doctorate in Nursing Practice required.
Minimum Two (2) years of RN experience in Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, and/or Obstetrics required.
Current BLS/ACLS certifications required.
National Certification for Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinical Nurse Leader, APN certification in Women & Children's Health, or a Certified Nurse Midwife required. If no certification, ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire is required.
Proficient communication skills (oral and written) required.
Excellent attendance, interpersonal skills and work history required.
Level III high risk obstetrical experience highly preferred.
Excellent demeanor that promote effective interaction with multi-disciplinary health care providers, academic departments, vendors, and others.
Intermediate computer skills with the ability to become proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems with on-the-job training.
