The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a full-time ABA board certified or board eligible candidate with a primary expertise in pediatrics.
This position will be responsible for the leadership of the pediatric anesthesiology service as part of a team of anesthesiologists located at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.
About the Appointment:
Develop goals and objectives for the Pediatric Division in line with the Department Strategic initiatives.
Lead recruitment of academic anesthesiologists for the Division.
Work with faculty to advance the missions of the Department and grow internal and external collaborations.
Mentor and develop faculty in education, research and clinical care, increasing academic productivity and fostering progress toward promotion.
Monitor and ensure success of fellowship program; oversee resident and medical student education within Pediatric Division. Teaching residents and fellows is an important part of the role.
Partner with health system staff to ensure optimization of the clinical practice including quality, standardization, peer review, productivity, performance improvement and clinical scheduling.
Perform clinical duties as a member of the Pediatric Division and share in call responsibilities.
Foster engagement and teamwork within and outside the Pediatric Division.

Board certified or board eligible in anesthesiology, subspecialty board certification in pediatric anesthesiology, and completion of an ACGME-accredited anesthesiology residency training.
Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota
Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.
Prior leadership, mentoring and team building experience
Strong clinical background with demonstrated excellence in teaching and clinical excellence in Pediatric Anesthesiology.
Track record of funded research a plus, including clinical trials as well as high-impact peer-reviewed publications
Formal fellowship training or significant experience in pediatric anesthesiology is preferred.
