On behalf of Dr. Marlene Miller, Pediatrician-in-Chief for University Hospitals and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital (UH/RBC), CareerPhysician, the national leader in pediatric executive search, has initiated a national search for candidates to practice in the Division of Pediatric Nephrology (#33 ranked program in the country by the 2021-2022 US News and World Report). The organizations are seeking a board certified/board eligible Pediatric Nephrologist to complement the clinical and scholarly activities of the Division that currently consists of two Pediatric Nephrologists and a Nurse Practitioner. This is a full-time position including attending clinical responsibilities, participation in medical student and Pediatric resident education, pursuit of academic endeavors appropriate for promotion, and contributions to administrative responsibilities.
Leadership provided by Division Chief, Dr. Christina Nguyen, previously Medical Director, Pediatric Kidney Transplant at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and supported by faculty member Dr. Emily Joyce, a Nurse Practitioner, along with dedicated dialysis, transplant, social work, and nursing staff.
Allocated pediatric dialysis space with a designated pediatric medical director and participation in SCOPE.
Active expansion of the pediatric kidney transplant program with participation in the paired donation programs as well as the initiation of a point of care ultrasound program in the clinical setting.
Opportunity to assume leadership positions in education, dialysis, and transplantation.
Key opportunities, but not limited to, further development of a comprehensive Pediatric Nephrology program, expansion of comprehensive multidisciplinary hypertension program, partnering with Maternal Fetal Medicine in providing prenatal consultation to expectant mothers, and collaboration with Surgical Director of Pediatric Transplant Surgery, Meelie DebRoy, MD.
Qualified MD/DO or MD/DO/PhD candidates must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatric Nephrology and possess excellent procedural and clinical skills.
Eligibility for academic rank at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level.
