Practice Description

Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, is looking for a Board-Certified Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Physician to join its Hospitalist team. Grand Itasca is a fully integrated multi-specialty clinic and hospital.

Practice Details

Grand Itasca has a current team of 5 full-time Hospitalists that are dedicated on a full-time basis to providing inpatient care. Looking to expand to 8 full-time Hospitalists. The Hospitalists occasionally work in tandem or with a clinic doctor to provide acute care management for patients in the medical surgical unit, ICU, and occasional perioperative consults. Hospitalists care for an average of 10 to 14 patients per day. The practice covers a wide range of acute and chronic diseases.

A full time Hospitalists currently works 132 days a year with a proposed overnight call every 3rd day. Overnight call is provided separately for Obstetrics and Pediatric care. In addition, Grand Itasca has an Emergency Department staff with one or two physicians 24 hours each day.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Med/Peds residency training program.
• BC/BE with the ABMS
• Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
• Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.

Community Information

Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital has 10,000 to 12,000 patient visits per month. The primary service area of the clinic includes roughly 50,000 people. In the local and surrounding community, Grand Itasca is the dominant provider of primary health care services. A long tradition of providing excellent service in Family Practice and Internal Medicine has positioned the Clinic for its expansion into secondary care specialties.

Grand Rapids is three hours from Minneapolis and 90 minutes from Duluth.
