Phoenix Children’s is hiring a clinical nurse for the Plastic Surgery clinic. This unique position will be split between two specialties. Incumbent will be supporting a hand surgeon 50% of the time, and the other 50% will be supporting a cranial, facial and cleft pallet surgeon. This role will require travel to the Phoenix Children’s office that is located in the St. Joe’s hospital, the Mercy Gilbert location, and possibly the Thomas campus. The ideal nurse will have a minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience working with surgeons, have outstanding multitasking abilities, must be able to develop/create detailed surgical care plans. Incumbent will be meeting with patients to discuss surgery plans, creating orders, and detailed follow up and care plans for patients. This position does require a lot of phone triage to execute the surgery and care plans for the patient. This role does offer 4/10’s, and you will be assigned a regular day off during the week, which will be determined by the practice manager.
This position, in collaboration with the healthcare team, patient, and family, coordinates and promotes patient health utilizing evidence-based practice in the delivery of professional nursing care across the care continuum. This position advocates for the patient and family adhering to nursing and medical plans of care, regulatory standards, and organizational values.
Two year (ADN) degree in nursing, a four year degree (BSN) in nursing, or a Diploma Nursing degree. (Required)
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in an RN to BSN program. (Preferred)
Pediatric experience. (Preferred)
Current State of Arizona RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. (Required)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification may be required within 90 days of entry into the position for select departments. (Preferred)
