The University of Georgia College of Family and Consumer Sciences is seeking applications for the Child Life Clinical Coordinator position from an experienced scholar-practitioner to provide instruction and supervision to undergraduate and graduate students. This is a non-tenure track, academic, nine-month position with a 87.5% teaching, 9.5% administration, and 3% service appointment with the possibility of additional summer teaching. This faculty position will enhance the academic and professional development of students in the Department of Human Development and Family Science bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, with a focus on the Child Life program. The successful candidate will supervise academic and clinical training of students, and build collaborations with local, regional, and national professional organizations and training sites to provide students applied learning in practica and internships. Classroom and online instruction, participation in collaborative work on funded projects relevant to the Child Life Program, and support of the Child Life graduate students are expected. Start date: August 1, 2025.
Responsibilities: Teach seven undergraduate and/or graduate courses each academic year (combination of didactic and applied experience supervision); supervise majors, supporting their professional development in community-based placements; and liaise with community-based placements to develop and support practicum sites. This person will participate in department, college, and university governance, as well as in the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) and other relevant professional organizations. The successful candidate will contribute to presentations and publications relevant to the practice, and toward the translation of science to practice through relevant grants and contracts.

Minimum Requirements:
All candidates must possess a currently active Certified Child Life Specialist credential (CCLS) through the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP).
Candidates must have an earned doctoral degree in Human Development and Family Science or in a related area (e.g., early childhood, education, social work, psychology, public health, nursing sociology) and/or a Master's degree in Child Life.
Preferred Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a background in classroom and/or online teaching and mentoring at a university.
At time of appointment, candidates must demonstrate 3 years of professional clinical experience as a Child Life Specialist in hospital and other healthcare settings focused on children and their families for an appointment to Clinical Assistant Professor.
