Company Overview
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is one of the world's premier cancer centers, committed to exceptional patient care, leading-edge research, and superb educational programs. The blending of research with patient care is at the heart of everything we do. The institution is a comprehensive cancer center whose purposes are the treatment and control of cancer, the advancement of biomedical knowledge through laboratory and clinical research, and the training of scientists, physicians and other health care workers.
Job Description
The Tulpule lab is seeking enthusiastic postdoctoral fellows to lead multi-disciplinary projects at the interface of cancer signaling, biomolecular condensates, and DNA repair. Dr. Tulpule is a physician-scientist and pediatric oncologist who recently moved from UCSF to MSKCC and is excited to have multiple positions available to grow the lab. We will pair fundamental mechanistic biology about cancer-driving fusion oncoproteins with clinical/translational science that is uniquely enabled by MSK's vast compendium of patient-derived tumor models and human samples, with the goal of developing new treatments for pediatric cancer.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in molecular biology and biochemical techniques and have a strong track record of publications. Previous experience in either: (1) cancer signaling, especially RTK and/or RAS biology, or (2) DNA repair biology and techniques, is beneficial, but not required. Most importantly, we value independent and thoughtful individuals who love doing science in a supportive environment.
This is a perfect position for someone seeking direct mentorship from a young investigator, while still having the expertise of senior PIs at MSKCC and the Tow Center and access to state-of-the-art facilities and cores throughout MSK, Rockefeller, and Weill-Cornell Medical School (as part of the tri-institutional campus). MSKCC provides competitive salaries, full benefits including paid family leave, and importantly, access to subsidized institutional housing. The lab places a premium on mentorship and this role will position postdoctoral fellows for successful careers in academia or industry.
Interested candidates should email Dr. Tulpule ([Please click the Apply button for the link or address]) to apply and include a cover letter that includes career objectives, a CV, and names of 3 references. Additional information can be found at: https://www.mskcc.org/research-areas/labs/asmin-tulpule
The ideal candidate should have:
- A PhD or MD
- Strong track record of publications
- Experience with biochemistry and cell and molecular biology techniques
- Most importantly, a willingness and excitement to learn and discover new biology
